All eyes on Eisley

November, 27, 2010. I walked into the loft in dallas with a quick pace, maybe because I was in a hurry to see the show or to get past all the young Jeezy fans that were downstairs to see him at the palladium. I stood among the crowd and I noticed that the one and only Christie Dupree had just walked beside me, I tried to keep my cool but I must admit I failed at that. Christie opened the show with a very relaxed acoustic set that emphasized her beautiful voice and laid back style. After Christie a band that I had never heard of called Ives the band came up and completely turned the crowd alive. Ives the band was a combination of upbeat sounds and classic melodies. The independent band sang and danced and woke the crowd alive as if to prepare us for Eisley. When both Christie and Ives the band finished their sets that went straight to the back of the venue to stand by their merch tables to sign autographs, take pictures and interact with their fans. It had taken around twenty minutes or so to set up for Eisley so the crown was in full anticipation. Christie Dupree and her younger brother Colin Dupree opened up the show and are the younger siblings of the members of Eisley, Sherri, Stacey, Weston and Chauntelle and their Cousin Garron who plays guitar for Eisley. The group was clearly very family oriented and very much talented, each of the members spouses and other family members were all at the show in full support for Eisley. Eisley finally took the stage and everyone was ready, they opened with a new song called “the valley” that will debut on their new album that comes out early 2011. The band interacted with the audience by talking and attempting humor between every couple songs allowing the audience to feel as if they were a part of the family. The show closed with a crowd favorite “trolleywood”. Most people in the crowd sang a long and clapped a long with the song. I encourage anyone who hasn’t heard the soulful beauty that is Eisley to download a couple songs and fall in love with the heartfelt music.
