Last Choir Performance of The Year

As the school year comes to an end, so do the school activities. The Mansfield High School Choir sealed the year with heart-felt songs and ones we grew up listening to. The theme was “Night At The Movies” and the songs performed were featured in Disney movies. Needless to say from the audiences’ reaction to the songs and the pumped up choirs, that the night was definitely an entertaining one.

The show kicked off with a performance collaborating all of the choirs together and performed “We’re All In This Together” from High School Musical.

Bella Voce sang with attitude and smiles “Cheetah Sisters” from Cheetah Girls the Movie. They also had to manage a wardrobe change in less than 10 minutes.

Keeping the same movie, Varsity Women’s Choir rhythmically sang “Strut”. They added dance moves to the performance and changed outfits as well.

Concert Choir switched it up and brought Camp Rock to the stage and performed “It’s On”.

The large count of students in Chamber Choir managed to fit themselves on stage and added props to the performance of “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride” from the movie Lilo & Stitch. Beach balls, a skateboard, hula skirts, and Hawaiian shirts were featured throughout the entire lively enactment.

The song “It’s A Hard-Knock Life” in the movie Annie was sung by Bella Voce, making it their second performance of the night by the choir itself out of four from the entire show. They included extra tools such as mops, brooms, and another change in wardrobe to portray the song visually as well as audibly.

Varsity Women’s Choir reminded us of the movie Lizzie McGuire when singing “What Dreams Are Made Of” with shimmery outfits and a poppy feel in the air.

Varsity Men’s Choir dimmed the lights of the Performing Arts Center, pulled over hoodies of dark capes, and brought lit candles to the stage to bring an eerie feel to the audience. They Performed “Misty Mountains” from The Hobbit and did the song “Justice”. Drums were featured creating a beat within the deep song, completing the image of the song.

Combined Choirs sang “Joyful, Joyful” from Sister Act 2, making it the last song from “Night At The Movies”.

The tradition after every choir concert was continued, bringing seniors to tears as they sang along to “The Lord Bless You and Keep You” one last time.
