Golf team captain Greg Yates signed a letter of intent with Texas A&M Nov. 11.  After considering Texas Tech, Baylor, and the University of Oklahoma, Yates made his decision to play for the Aggies.

“I chose A&M because of the history, plus they won the national championship last year and it doesn’t get better than that,” Yates said.

Yates is the ninth-ranked high school mens golfer in the state of Texas.

Yates will receive a partial scholarship.  He is undecided on a major field of study, but is not ruling out a pro golfing career after college.

Yates is the son of English teacher Mrs. Robin Yates.
