Because the snow week was determined to be a state of emergency by the Texas government, Mansfield ISD will not be using its upcoming bad weather make-up days next Friday, 2/13, or in April.
“Mansfield ISD will not need to use bad weather make-up days for last week’s four-day closure caused by icy conditions due to allowances from the state,” Principal Mrs. Gates said.
In late January, Texas Governor Greg Abbot declared a state of emergency for over 200 counties, including Tarrant county. The snow and icy conditions in the county were unlike previous years and posed serious risks for driver safety. In the last week of January, MISD subsequently closed school down from Monday to Thursday, reopening on Friday.
