Halloween Traditions

Halloween Traditions

It’s that time of year again where the days become shorter and the nights become longer. But it’s also the time for Halloween! Many people celebrate it in different ways, while some don’t even celebrate it all. While everybody is use to the same routine, they don’t even notice all the other ways people celebrate Halloween.

One very popular way of celebrating Halloween is going trick-or-treating. Trick-or-Treating is an easy way to obtain some candy in a short amount of time. Some people believe you are to old to go trick-or-treating while others would quickly disagree.

“When you’re older go trick-or-treating with friends and get candy, there is not a certain age to stop!” said junior Morgan Morazzano.

Another Halloween tradition is to pass out the candy to the trick-or-treaters. Older people believe that there is an age limit for trick- or-treating and when a person hits that age they retire to passing out the candy. There is always people participating in this activity, so don’t worry about being the only one who does it.

“I like passing out candy because I get to see all the little kids dressed up!” said freshman Abby Listina.

For those who do not feel like trick-or-treating or passing out candy does not fill the thrill that they are looking for there is always an alliterative like haunted houses. If you love being scared out of your pants and enjoy seeing all of your favorite scary movie scenarios brought to real life, this is the option for you. People go all out for haunted houses, it doesn’t matter if they are small petite ones or huge warehouses they will always make sure you get the thrill you are looking for.

“I like going to haunted houses because they give me an opportunity to hold a girl’s hand or see how scared I get,” said junior Tyler Stacy.

One activity that non-halloweeners can do if they are not in the mood to go out trick-or-treating or go to haunted houses is to carve pumpkins. An abundant amount of people always take time out of their day to carve ordinary pumpkins into new spooky creations. Another option that never fails is staying at home and watching TV.

Another option is to attend the MHS football game against Cedar Hill at their home turf today . The game starts at 7:30pm and the pre-game starts at 7:00. These are just a few ways to celebrate the spooky holiday of Halloween, but not all. Be creative and make sure to have fun on this holiday!
