Hurricane Harvey is a Category 4 storm that has caused disastrous flooding in southern Texas. The hurricane made landfall on Friday, August 29, 2017 leaving many neighboring cities and small towns flooded and demolished in its path. Many people in the area are now having to seek shelter, and are left without necessities.

Mansfield ISD has partnered with the Salvation Army in order to help those affected.

Students and parents have been requested to help provide cases of bottled water, Gatorade, granola bars, new and unused toothbrushes, toothpaste, disposable diapers and baby wipes. The district will be accepting donations at any nearby MISD school through September 8th.

A few other ways you can donate are by:

  1. Provide supplies to foodbanks. Which include, but are not limited to: Houston Food Bank, Central Texas Food Bank, Galveston County Food Bank and Corpus Christi Food Bank.
  2. Make donations to groups that provide for general disaster relief. Which include, but are not limited to: Texas Diaper Bank, Americares, Salvation Army, Save the Children, Direct Relief and Heart to Heart.
  3. Volunteer your time.

Mansfield ISD or The Uproar do not endorse any of these groups. We recommend doing research on any charity before donating.
