This weeks teacher is English teacher Sharon Lingle. This is her sixth year working at MHS
Q: What high school did you attend?
A: I attended Carl Albert High School in Midwest City, Oklahoma
Q: What was your favorite class or teacher when you were a student?
A: Obviously my favorite class was English, but I took an elective called Teacher Cadet and it was my second favorite class! Oddly enough, though, my favorite teacher was my typing teacher Ms. Frame.
Q: What led you to become a teacher?
A: I have always wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember—when I was a young girl, I would play “school” with my dolls as the students and my mom was the principal. I guess I never imagined doing anything different!
Q: What kind of high school student would you have describe yourself as?
A: I would describe myself as an engaged learner. I was always taking notes and going to tutoring after school if I needed it. When I didn’t pass a test, I always made sure to study harder for the next one. We didn’t really have the distractions that students have today, so being focused was a simpler task.
Q: Was there anything you would have changed or done differently during school?
A: I don’t think so. My time in high school was very memorable and enjoyed being a kid. I am still in touch with most of my best friends from school.
Q: Describe one of your fondest moments from high school.
A: One of my fondest moments in high school is watching the community, students, faculty and staff come together when three of our classmates died in a car accident during lunch time. While tragic, it is something that I will never forget.
Q: What are you most excited for this year?
A: I always look forward to meeting new students and seeing my old students in the halls. Teaching is my passion, so I always look forward to a new year!
