Throwback Thursday: Colby Rodgers

This week’s teacher is Colby Rodgers. He is an English 2 & 3 teacher and heads the UIL Ready Writing team.

 

Q: Where did you grow up?

A: I was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. I still live there.

Q: Favorite movie of all time?

A: The Godfather

Q:  Any advice for students?

A: Do not fall into the vicious cycle of procrastination.

Q: Describe one of your fondest moments from high school.

A: In high school, I found my passion for heavy music. -[This interest] has stayed with him throughout adulthood.

Q: Who was your favorite singer or music group?

A: System of a Down

Q: Did you have a job during high school or college?

A: I did not during high school. I did during the summer in college.

Q: Did you go to prom, and if so, was it fun?

A: Yes, but absolutely not. It had low attendance and terrible music.

Q: What is your favorite part of teaching?

A: I enjoy connecting with students over their interests and passions, not just academics.
